Durham Regional Police say one person is dead and five others were injured after an early-morning crash in Ajax on Saturday.
Police said they were called to the area of Westney Road and Williamson Drive at 4:40 a.m.
One person, a male driver, was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. There’s no word on his age.
The other vehicle had five people inside, police said, adding that all of them were transported to hospital. Two suffered serious injures, two critical, and the driver has since been released from hospital after suffering non-life-threatening injuries.
Images from the scene show severe damage to two vehicles. An Ornge air ambulance also attended the scene.
There is no word on what caused the crash and whether or not charges will be laid.
