19 Iconic British Reality TV Show Moments That You’ve Probably Forgotten About's Profile

“You have all the grace and decorum of a reversing dump truck”

1.

On Take Me Out, when this contestant somehow managed to offend everyone in the room.

ITV

Damien made pretty much every rookie mistake possible. He revealed who he thought was the most attractive (even though she’d already turned her light off), he said he didn’t want to end up with a blonde( even though the majority of the women with their lights on were blonde), and he even forgot the name of the women he chose to go on a date with. This was a perfect example of how not to act on a reality TV show.

2.

On Educating Yorkshire, when Saffiyah made it clear to Hadiqa that they would never be besties.

Channel 4

Educating Yorkshire taught us many things but most importantly, it taught us that no one could force Safiyyah to be Hadiqa’s mate (even though she was sorry to hear that her grandma passed away). These two may have not been destined to be friends, but this moment will forever be iconic.

3.

On Love Island, when Theo said what we were all thinking after Johnny was sent home.

ITV2

Theo wasted absolutely no time pointing out that if Tyla was as smitten with Johnny as she made out to be, she could pack her bags and leave the villa with him! This was easily one of the most savage moments from Season 3 – even Megan Thee Stallion would be proud.

4.

On Love Island, when Emma and Terry had a very graphic moment.

ITV2

Understandably, Emma and Terry thought if they had sex in plain sight, on top of the covers, with nothing left to the imagination, that ITV wouldn’t be able air the scene, but boy were they wrong! Instead, we all got an eyeful and they earned themselves the award for the most graphic sex scene in Love Island history! I truly could not believe my eyes.

5.

Also on Love Island, when Curtis told Amy that being the island barista was a top priority for him.

ITV2

When Amy confronted Curtis about his lack of affection in the mornings, he really looked her dead in the eye and said “I also want to be the person that gets up and makes everyone a coffee, so everyone’s ready in the morning”. Amy was coming back here to tell him that she loved him and Curtis was fantasising about being a Starbucks employee – you can’t make this stuff up.

6.

On Come Dine With Me, when Peter dragged Jane for filth.

Channel 4

Placing fourth was clearly Peter’s 13th reason and he wasn’t going to go down without a fight. Poor Jane took all the heat and was dragged like no one had ever been dragged before. But more importantly, did she enjoy the money? Did it make her very happy? Does she still have the grace and decorum of a reversing dump truck with no tyres on? I need to know!

7.

And on another episode of Come Dine With Me, when DJ Kev tasted his dessert in the most unsettling way.

Channel 4

To this day I still don’t know what possessed this man to put an entire whisk in his mouth, but it made for great TV.

8.

On Great British Bake Off: SU2C, when James Acaster presented his questionable flapjacks to the judges.

Channel 4

Let’s be honest, “Started making it. Had a breakdown. Bon appetit” is the most relatable thing any contestant on any show has ever said. James Acaster may not have been the most gifted baker but he definitely kept us entertained.

9.

On Made In Chelsea, when Millie called out Rosie and Hugo in front of everyone.

E4

After finding out that Rosie had hooked up with Hugo while they were still together, Millie took to the stage to confront them both. And in true Millie fashion, she spilled all the tea in the most dramatic way possible. “Here’s to friendship” indeed.

10.

And on Made In Chelsea, when Gabrielle held a casting call to find an Olly lookalike to star in her music video.

E4

We all get over breakups differently – some of us eat our body weight in ice cream and cry while watching cheesy rom-coms, others search high and low for doppelgängers of their ex and make music videos about them. Gabriella had many legendary moments, but this one definitely takes the cake.

11.

On Big Brother, when Nikki was fed up with the air-con in the house.

E4

We couldn’t have a list of iconic reality TV moments without talking about Nikki Grahame. No one could ever forget the infamous “Who is she? Who is she? Where did you find her?!” rant, but an underrated moment that deserves a mention was when she tried to convince Big Brother to turn the air-con off. In true Nikki style, she went to the diary room and vented like she’d never vented before. It was an Oscar-worthy performance in my humble opinion.

12.

On Celebrity Big Brother, when Chantelle gave an award-winning performance.

E4

Chantelle had the task of convincing her celebrity housemates that she was a pop star from the fictitious band ‘Kandy Floss’. At one point, she had to perform one of their “songs” in front of her housemates and it was epic. And by epic, I mean disastrous. Naturally, she didn’t know the melody or the lyrics to the song and she had to wing it – it was so bad it was almost good.

13.

And on Celebrity Big Brother, when Gemma Collins opted to get a professional blow dry instead of hot water for the house.

E4

Series 17 was truly the gift that kept on giving. We had the “David is dead” fiasco, Megan McKenna having a meltdown over mashed potato, and of course, Gemma feeling claustrophobic. But one of the most legendary moments was when Gemma decided to get her hair done instead of getting hot water for the house. One thing about the GC, she’s not going to let her hair look frazzled if she can help it.

14.

On This Morning, when Phillip and Holly hosted the show after a night out on the town.

ITV

Phillip and Holly took the walk of shame to a whole new level when they presented the show after being up all night at an awards ceremony. They were somehow still in their clothes from the night before and ridiculously hungover – it was so unbelievably chaotic and iconic at the same time.

15.

Also of course when Gino D’ACampo had the best comeback of all time.

ITV

Holly compared Gino’s dish to a British carbonara and instead of just disagreeing with her, he said “If my grandma had wheels she would’ve been a bike”. Phillip and Holly couldn’t keep it together and neither could we. What a time to be alive.

16.

On I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, when Gillian McKeith fainted right before a Bushtucker Trial.

ITV

The slo-mo fall to the ground, the medic rushing in, the impromptu cut to adverts – it was all so dramatic! And did Gillian really faint or was it a ruse to get out of yet another Bushtucker Trial? I need answers!

17.

On The X Factor, when Cher Lloyd auditioned with “Turn My Swag On”.

ITV

I’m sure we can all agree that Cher Lloyd’s audition was a cultural reset. The ripped camo trousers, the layered necklaces, the facial expressions, the song choice – it was everything we could’ve hoped for and more.

18.

And on The X Factor, when this dynamic duo fell out over uncooked chicken right before auditioning.

ITV

Ottavio auditioned solo after having a massive row with his singing partner over undercooked chicken. After lots of tears and the help of the judges, the dynamic duo put their differences aside and reunited once and for all. Who knew chicken could be so divisive?!

19.

On The Only Way Is Essex, when Gemma Collins showed Arg what he was missing out on.

ITV2

Yes, the GC deserves another mention because as we’ve already established, she’s reality TV gold. Arg didn’t know what to do with himself when Gemma bared it all and announced that he missed his chance with her and neither did we! One thing’s for sure, Gemma is the queen of an iconic catchphrase, and “You ain’t ever gonna get this candy” is exactly that.
