Body of young girl found in Toronto dumpster's Profile

Toronto police say the human remains found Monday in a dumpster belonged to a young girl, possibly aged four-to-seven years.

Police were called shortly before 5 p.m. Monday to a construction area near Castle Frank Road and Dale Avenue (near Bloor Street East and Bayview Avenue).

It is unclear when the girl died. Investigators say she may have been deceased since the summer or fall of 2021, or possibly earlier.

They say the remains were likely placed in the area between 12 p.m. on April 28 and 4:45 p.m. on May 2.

A cause of death is still being looked into.

The girl is described as:

  • Possibly between the ages of four and seven years
  • Black, or of African or mixed African descent
  • About 3’6″ tall with a thin build
  • Having black, curly hair that was sectioned into four short ponytails (two of which were braided with black and blue elastic bands)
  • Having all of her teeth

Police have released two images (shown below) of clothing items associated with the remains:

Anyone with information is asked to immediately call police at 416-808-5300.

Investigators are looking to see if anyone has security or dash-cam footage of the construction site or may recognize the clothing items pictured above.
