Durham police say one suspect is in custody, but another is wanted, after a Whitby cell phone store was robbed at gunpoint.
Back on September 1, two suspects walked into the Freedom Mobile in the Kendalwood Plaza and pulled guns.
They demanded phones, but only managed to take a customer’s cell before fleeing in a waiting silver Hyundai.
Police caught up with them nearby, but they took off.
Officers eventually called off the chase out of concern for the public.
Jahsiya Mullings, 19, of Brampton has been arrested. He’s charged with two counts of robbery with a firearm and disguise with intent.
Durham police are still trying to identify the second suspect.
Originally, police said there were looking for three people, but they made no mention of the third suspect as they announced charges against Mullings.
