City of Toronto worker stabbed by client at interim housing program's Profile



A City of Toronto worker is in hospital after she was stabbed at one of the city’s interim housing programs.

It happened at a building located at 55/65 Broadway Avenue, near Yonge Street around 7:10 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say a man armed with a knife stabbed the woman and she suffered serious injuries.

The man was arrested.

The city is wishing the worker a full and speedy recovery.

Approximately 150 clients at the building call it home under the interim program. There are 24-hour security guards at the site along with video surveillance.

The building is set to be redeveloped in September and staff and working to find permanent or alternate temporary housing for all clients before the end of August.

The city is investigating the incident along with police.
