The DRPS homicide unit is investigating after human remains were found in a shallow grave in Pickering.
On Sunday, at approximately 2:30 p.m. officers were called to the area of Concession Road 8 and Sideline 20 after someone found burnt human remains.
At this time, there are no details about the deceased as police continue to work with the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, Centre of Forensic Science and a Forensic Anthropologist.
Police are currently seeking witnesses who may have used the off-road/ATV trail in the area in the last month to come forward and speak with investigators.
