A Durham police officer facing charges under the Police Services Act has a virtual disciplinary hearing Thursday.
It’s Constable Erin Howard’s first appearance.
She is the Durham police officer who was charged under the act after posting a video on social media in support of the Ottawa protests while in uniform and in her cruiser.
She is charged with two counts each of discreditable conduct, insubordination and breach of confidence.
Protesters are planning to gather outside of Durham Regional Headquarters during the hearing Thursday in support of Howard.
A poster from the group “Great Canadian Cruise Hold Fast Edition” on social media says since she spoke out, it’s now their duty to support her.
