Durham police have arrested a man after a collision in Clarington.

On Sunday, officers were conducting traffic patrol for a trailer that was blocking part of the road in the Concession Road 7 and Holt Road area.

They say at 3 a.m., a westbound vehicle hit the trailer and then hit the police cruiser.

When police went to check on the driver they say he still had a beer in his hand.

No one was hurt.

The 33-year-old man from Oshawa was arrested.

Police did not release the man’s name.
