The Durham Regional Police Services Board say they’ve chosen an Interim Chief of Police to follow outgoing Chief Paul Martin.
Deputy Chief Todd Rollauer will jump into the temporary role on September 12.
“It is an honour to accept this appointment and to serve our community as Interim Chief of Police,” said Rollauer in a statement. “The women and men of the DRPS are second to none and I am privileged to be chosen to lead them in this capacity.”
Martin announced on July 9 that he would be leaving the role.
The Board, which is a civilian body in charge of the DRPS, will now turn their attention toward choosing a permanent Chief of Police. The Board says they’ll need the help of an independent firm to make that decision.
