Whitby Mayor Don Mitchell joined Minto Communities GTA for a ribbon cutting ceremony earlier today to officially open the Dryden Bridge overpass, part of the new Ivy Ridge Development in Whitby.
Due to the size of the Ivy Ridge development, Minto Communities GTA has extended Dryden Boulevard with a new overpass bridge which includes a new intersection with traffic lights.
It’s a project that has been four years in the making.
“Minto Communities is happy to be a part of this milestone achievement for the Town of Whitby,” said David Robins, Minto Communities GTA division president. “From our initial involvement in the project when we purchased this property in late 2015 it was clear to us that this piece of Dryden was a critical connection to Whitby’s overall municipal plans. We are proud to be a partner on this project with the Town of Whitby.”
“The Dryden Bridge overpass has been a long awaited project in our town,” added Mayor Don Mitchell. “We needed more east-west connections in Whitby and this new overpass certainly fulfills that need. I’m delighted to see more walking and cycling opportunities to enjoy our beautiful town.”
