With the public school shutdowns set to last another couple of weeks, Durham is extending its emergency child care for certain front-line workers.
Until January 25, eligible parents of school-aged children can access the free services.
As well, more people can access them, including:
- People working with vulnerable populations
- Workers maintaining food, hydro and water systems
- Workers supporting court and public safety operations
- School staff members who are required to work with students in-person and in-school
