Durham police are investigating a fatal stabbing in Ajax.
Officers were called around 2 a.m. Saturday to the area of Westney Road South and Bayly Street West.
Investigators allege two men got into a physical altercation outside a bar, and that one of them pulled out a knife and stabbed the other.
The victim, a 28-year-old man, was taken to hospital and later pronounced deceased.
Investigators say they have identified a suspect but are not releasing a name.
This was Durham Region’s eleventh homicide of 2022.
Meanwhile, at the time of the stabbing, police say a vehicle struck another person in the parking lot. The driver was charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm.
The person struck was taken to a trauma centre with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
