Durham police have charged a man after a stabbing in Whitby.
On Thursday afternoon, police were called to Motel 6 on Consumers Drive for a stabbing.
They say the suspect approached the 78-year-old victim, stabbed him and took his personal property.
The suspect then fled.
The victim was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators were able to locate the suspect and he was arrested nearby.
Dale Wyatt, 27, of Clarington, is charged with: aggravated assault; assault with a weapon; robbery; weapons dangerous and fail to comply with release order x4. he was held for a bail hearing.
