Durham police are asking for help identifying an arson suspect after a tow truck was set on fire in Ajax Friday morning.
It happened on Gamble Drive, in the Taunton Road and Salem Road area, around 6:10 a.m. Friday.
Police arrived to find a Chevrolet tow truck fully engulfed in flames.
The fire was put out and although police spotted the suspect vehicle, a red/orange SUV, and tried to stop it, they say the driver sped off. The SUV was last seen in the Harwood Avenue and Kingston Road area.
The suspect is only described as a male.
The surveillance video now released by police shows the suspect dumping a substance on the tow truck, setting it on fire and then fleeing.
