Durham reports 156 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday's Profile



On Saturday, 156 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Durham.

Three deaths were reported, bringing the death toll in the region up to 354.

Of those who have died, 218 were residents at long-term care or retirement homes.

The number of COVID-19 variant cases identified is now 8,316.

To date there have been 23,239 cases in Durham, with 21,625 of those cases now listed as resolved.

There are currently 1,260 active cases in the region.

Of those, 1,187 people are isolating at home and 73 are in hospital.

Twenty-three of the people in hospital are in the ICU.

Some of the cases that were added to regional totals are from previous days.

The regional data for one confirmed case is under investigation.

As of May 14, 277,568 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Durham. However, that number does not include those doses given at pharmacies.
