Durham reports 34 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday; active case count at 162's Profile



The Durham Region Health Department is reporting 34 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

The latest update comes with 18 newly-resolved cases.

This brings the active case count to 162.

Since March, the region has confirmed 2,549 cases, with 2,205 of those now considered resolved.

In total, 182 deaths in the region have been linked to COVID-19 infections.

There are currently five people in hospital, including three in the ICU.

Here is the regional breakdown as of Saturday:

Pickering — 755 total cases, 31 active (five new cases)
Ajax — 716 total cases, 37 active (two new cases)
Whitby — 346 total cases, 40 active (15 new cases)
Oshawa — 403 total cases, 35 active (eight new cases)
Clarington — 169 total cases, 14 active (two new cases)
Uxbridge — 114 total cases, one active (no new cases)
Scugog — 26 total cases, zero active (no new cases)
Brock — 17 total cases, one active (no new cases)

*Three active cases (including two new cases) are listed as “under investigation” and do not appear in the regional breakdown.
