On Friday, 42 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Durham.
No new deaths were announced leaving the death toll in the region at 290.
Of those who died, 216 people were residents at long-term care or retirement homes.
To date there have been 11,233 cases in Durham with 10,669 of those cases now listed as resolved.
According to data from the province in total there have been 17 cases of the U.K. variant reported in Durham.
There are currently 274 active cases in the region.
Of those 250 people are isolating at home and 24 are in hospital.
Fourteen of the people in hospital are in the ICU.
It’s important to note that some of the cases that were added to regional totals are actually from previous days.
