Durham reports 55 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday's Profile



On Sunday, 55 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Durham.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the death toll in the region at 301.

Of those who have died, 217 were residents at long-term care or retirement homes.

The number of COVID-19 variant cases identified in the region has risen by five to 55.

To date there have been 12,429 cases in Durham, with 11,833 of those cases now listed as resolved.

There are currently 295 active cases in the region.

Of those, 273 people are isolating at home and 22 are in hospital.

Eight of the people in hospital are in the ICU.

Some of the cases that were added to regional totals are from previous days.
