Durham reports 72 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday's Profile



On Sunday, 72 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Durham.

Two new deaths were reported, bringing the death toll in the region up to 365.

Of those who have died, 218 were residents at long-term care or retirement homes.

The number of COVID-19 variant cases identified is now 9,254.

To date there have been 24,559 cases in Durham, with 23,498 of those cases now listed as resolved.

There are currently 696 active cases in the region.

Of those, 655 people are isolating at home and 41 are in hospital.

Nineteen of the people in hospital are in the ICU.

Some of the cases that were added to regional totals are from previous days.

As of May 29, 405,473 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Durham.
