Durham reports record 479 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, one more death's Profile



On Friday, 479 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Durham– a new local record.

One more death was reported, bringing the death toll in the region to 391.

Of those who have died, 227 were residents at long-term care or retirement homes.

To date there have been 30,927 cases in Durham, with 28,507 of those cases now listed as resolved.

There are currently 2,029 active cases in the region.

There are 2,027 people isolating at home and two people are in hospital.

Both of the cases in hospital are in the ICU.

The regional data for 36 confirmed cases is under investigation.

As of December 23, 1,167,575 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Durham.

After this, the health department will not be sharing daily COVID-19 numbers until after the holidays.

There won’t be any daily updates from December 26 to 28 and again from January 1 to 3.
