Durham reports two new cases of COVID-19 Sunday, number of active cases down to 40's Profile



Once again, only two new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Durham Region.

Sunday’s update also brought four resolutions, but no new deaths.

The death toll remains at 180.  Of those, 152 are linked to long-term care homes and retirement homes in the region.

Durham has seen at least 1,687 cases since the start of the pandemic, but only 40 of those are active.

Four people are still in hospital, all of whom are in the ICU.

The number of resolved cases is 1,467.

Here’s the regional breakdown of all of total and active cases reported as of Sunday:

Pickering — 564 total cases, eight active (no new cases)
Ajax — 438 total cases, 14 active (no new cases)
Whitby — 191 total cases, six active (one new case)
Oshawa — 267 total cases, six active (no new cases)
Clarington — 95 total cases,  one active (no new cases)
Uxbridge — 102 total cases, two active (no new cases)
Scugog — 20 total cases, three active (one new case)
Brock — 10 total cases, none active (no new cases)
