Oshawa Fire Services say they have brought down the flames at the scene of a blaze in Oshawa.
They first tweeted around 5 a.m. Saturday that they were dealing with a working fire near Simcoe Street South and First Avenue.
“Crews did an exceptional job protecting exposures on both the Bravo and Delta [left and right] sides of the building,” noted officials. “Along with difficult winter conditions, crews worked through the night to bring this fire under control.”
As of Saturday morning, roads were closed in the area.
Crews have extinguished the the fire at 492 Simcoe St. S. and are attending to all remaining smouldering areas. Simcoe St. S. Between Mill St. and First Ave. Remains closed. Please stay clear of the area. @oshawacity @iafflocal465 pic.twitter.com/YWgmIDl4BY
