Gun seized after shooting in Pickering's Profile



Durham police recovered a gun after a shooting in Pickering.

They were called around 4 p.m. Sunday to Spruce Hill Road in the area of Finch Avenue and Whites Road for a shooting in the area.

Investigators found shell casings nearby, but the suspects had fled the scene.

Later, police stopped a vehicle and the driver was arrested.

Officers seized cannabis, a handgun and ammunition.

Josiah French, 21, of Toronto faces 11 charges including possess illicit cannabis, possess for the purpose of selling, tampering with serial number and unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

He was held for a bail hearing.
