Have your say as Pickering reviews ward boundaries's Profile

The City of Pickering is conducting a ward boundary review to make sure residents get fair representation at their local council table.

Currently, Pickering is divided into three wards, each represented by the Mayor, along with one Regional Councillor and one City Councillor.

Geographic boundaries and Council representation can be seen by clicking here.

The current structure has been in place for approximately 40 years, with the exception of a minor change to the city’s ward boundaries in 2005.

The review hopes to identify effective and equitable electoral arrangements for the 2022 municipal election and beyond, taking into account changes in the size and distribution of Pickering’s population since the present wards were established, as well as the city’s forecasted population growth.

Residents are invited to take part in one of four virtual open houses to learn more and give feedback: Wednesday, October 7 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. or Thursday, October 15 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
