Man arrested after numerous vehicle break-ins at golf courses in Durham's Profile



Durham police believe they have the man responsible for numerous break and enters of vehicles parked outside golf courses.

More than 20 vehicles were entered in at courses in Durham since the start of the spring.

Numerous items were stolen from each vehicle.

It was becoming such a problem police put out a reminder not to leave valuables in vehicles when golfing.

Durham police worked in cooperation with other GTA agencies to identify and charge a man in relation to some of those incidents.

Roderick Newman, 30, Cobourg, is facing numerous charges which include: theft under $5000 x6; possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 x5; mischief under x6; unauthorized use of credit card x2; personation to gain advantage x3; fraud under x3.
