A man is facing charges for kidnapping a child and stealing a vehicle from an unconscious woman in Oshawa.
Durham police say around 5:20 p.m. Friday, they were called to help after an unresponsive woman that was found laying on some grass in the area of Lakewoods Park on Birchcliffe Avenue.
When she regained consciousness, she said her two-year-old daughter, vehicle, and possessions were missing.
Further investigation revealed the woman had been with a man who had taken her daughter and her vehicle after she lost consciousness.
The child and suspect were found in the Athol Street and Mary Street area.
The man was arrested and the child wasn’t hurt.

A 31-year-old man of no fixed address is charged with kidnapping, abduction of a person under 14 years of age, theft of motor vehicle, possess property over $5,000, theft under $5,000, possession of credit card, fail to comply with probation order and drive motor vehicle – no license. He was held for a bail hearing.
