Being late for work is no excuse for driving more than twice the speed limit on slick roads.
That’s the warning from Durham police, who say a man is facing charges after doing just that in Pickering.
On Thursday, officers say the 27-year-old driver was clocked going 122 km/h in a 60 km/h zone in the Hamlet of Green River.
It happened as Durham was hit with a blast of winter rain, making roads slippery.
The man, who wasn’t named, is charged with stunt driving and speeding. His Lexus has been impounded for two weeks.
