A man is facing charges after a traffic stop in Ajax.
On Saturday, at 10:20 a.m., officers received a report about an armed driver.
Police found the rental vehicle, a 2022 GMC Canyon, and stopped it in the Westney Road and Highway 401 area.
Police arrested the driver and seized a loaded handgun and fentanyl.
Alim Muhammad, 21, of Ajax, is charged with: unauthorized possession of a firearm; unauthorized possession of a firearm knowing it’s unauthorized; unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle; loaded restricted firearm; careless storage of a firearm; assault with a weapon; possession for the purpose of trafficking of a schedule I substance (fentanyl) and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace.
