Officer involved in Mississauga fatal shooting last month not speaking with SIU's Profile

The SIU says their investigation into the death of Ejaz Choudry, 62, in Mississauga continues.

Choudry was shot and killed by a Peel police officer on June 20 after they were called to do a wellness check.

The police watchdog now says the officer under investigation has declined an interview and won’t turn in his notes.

They say it is his right under Ontario regulations.

Nader Husan, a lawyer representing the family says it’s “troubling, but not surprising.”

There are a total of nine witness officers who have been interviewed.

The agency is also waiting to speak with some family members and are asking the family to give them access to Choudry’s medical records.
