Olive Avenue fire was likely started by child, no charges to be laid: DRPS's Profile

Durham police say no charges are being laid in connection to a devastating fire in March.

Investigators say they believe a child under the age of 12 started the blaze, and will not be elaborating further.

The fire happened March 22 in a row of houses on Olive Avenue in Oshawa, prompting evacuations and causing property damage.

Four people died, including 11-year-old Cristian Duguay-Sterling and nine-year-old Lucas Duguay-Sterling.

Terrance Pottie, 66, and Paul Leblanc, 57, were also killed.

In September, the boys were honoured with a memorial garden outside Simcoe Hall Settlement House in Oshawa.
