Ontario COVID-19 Update: June 4's Profile

The province is reporting 901 COVID-19 cases Saturday, but Public Health Ontario admits case counts are an underestimate of the true number.

There are also 671 hospitalizations due to COVID-19, two more than Friday’s report.

Of those patients, 107 are in the ICU, 10 less than Friday.

There were 10 more deaths announced from the last month bringing the death toll in the province to 13,285.

The number of known active cases went down to 9,221, but that number is also underestimated due to the province’s testing limitations.

So far in Ontario, 33,421,757 vaccines have been administered.

According to the province, 12,665,855 people have at least one dose, 12,207,728 people have received two doses and 7,381,250 have three doses.

In Ontario, 90.38 per cent of eligible residents five and up have their first shot and 87.12 per cent have two doses.

Right now, third doses are only open to those 12 and up and 57.07 per cent have three shots.
