The number of Ontarians who have died with or due to COVID-19 has surpassed 13,000.

There were 29 more deaths announced Wednesday, all from the last month.

It brings the death toll in the province to 13,020.

Of those patients, 176 are in the ICU, 12 less than Tuesday.

The province reported 1,995 new cases, but admits case counts are an underestimate of the true number.

The number of known active cases is down to 21,211, but that number is also underestimated due to the province’s testing limitations.

There were 20,465 tests completed the day prior to this report with a backlog of 5,584 tests.

So far in Ontario, 32,998,818 vaccines have been administered.

According to the province, 12,646,084 people have at least one dose, 12,180,759 people have received two doses, 7,334,503 have three doses and 837,472 have four.

Right now, third doses are only open to those 12 and up and 56.71 per cent have three shots.
