COVID-19 numbers in Ontario continue to trend downward.
The province reported 1,248 hospitalizations due to COVID-19 Wednesday, 97 less than Tuesday.
Of those patients, 163 are in the ICU, two less than Tuesday.
There were 14 more deaths were announced from the last month and two were added from more than a month ago, due to a data clean-up initiative.
It brings the death toll in the province to 13,099.
There were 1,692 cases reported Wednesday, but Public Health Ontario admits case counts are an underestimate of the true number of individuals with COVID-19 in the province.
The number of known active cases went up to 17,572, but that number is also underestimated due to the province’s testing limitations.
There were 15,599 tests completed the day prior to this report with a backlog of 5,321 tests.
The province is reporting a positivity rate of 10.5 per cent.
So far in Ontario, 33,151,398 vaccines have been administered.
According to the province, 12,652,562 people have at least one dose, 12,189,111 people have received two doses and 7,350,223 have three doses and 959,502 have four.
In Ontario, 90.29 per cent of eligible residents five and up have their first shot and 86.99 per cent have two doses.
Right now, third doses are only open to those 12 and up and 56.83 per cent have three shots.
