Most COVID-19 data in Ontario is trending down.
The province reported 1,412 cases Friday, but Public Health Ontario admits case counts are an underestimate of the true number.
There are also 1,165 hospitalizations due to COVID-19, 42 less than Thursday’s report.
Of those patients, 163 are in the ICU, five less than Thursday.
There were 16 more deaths announced from the last month and eight others were added from more than a month ago due to a data cleanup initiative.
It brings the death toll in the province to 13,146.
The number of known active cases went up to 16,411 but that number is also underestimated due to the province’s testing limitations.
There were 14,413 tests completed the day prior to this report with a backlog of 5,149 tests.
So far in Ontario, 33,201,525 vaccines have been administered.
According to the province, 12,654,584 people have at least one dose, 12,191,973 people have received two doses and 7,355,038 have three doses.
In Ontario, 90.30 per cent of eligible residents five and up have their first shot and 87.01 per cent have two doses.
Right now, third doses are only open to those 12 and up and 56.87 per cent have three shots.
The province will not be releasing any data Monday due to the Victoria Day holiday.
