Most COVID-19 data in Ontario continues to trend down.
The province reported 1,052 cases Sunday, but Public Health Ontario admits case counts are an underestimate of the true number.
There are also 809 hospitalizations due to COVID-19, 307 fewer than Saturday’s report. However, this is likely an undercount, as not all hospitals report their bed counts on weekends.
Of those patients, 152 are in the ICU, eight fewer than Saturday.
There were 2 more deaths announced from the last month.
It brings the death toll in the province to 13,161.
The number of known active cases went up to 15,439 but that number is also underestimated due to the province’s testing limitations.
There were 9,777 tests completed the day prior to this report with a backlog of 2,960 tests.
So far in Ontario, 33,235,491 vaccines have been administered.
According to the province, 12,656,114 people have at least one dose, 12,194,239 people have received two doses and 7,359,102 have three doses.
In Ontario, 90.31 per cent of eligible residents five and up have their first shot and 87.02 per cent have two doses.
Right now, third doses are only open to those 12 and up and 56.89 per cent have three shots.
The province will not be releasing any data Monday due to the Victoria Day holiday.
