The Ontario Liberals only want to see fully vaccinated people walking inside LCBO or cannabis stores.

On Tuesday, party leader Steven Del Duca called on the Ford government to “strengthen the vaccine certificate” system.

Del Duca also says people entering other “non-essential retail” should have to show proof of vaccination.

“With lives and livelihoods at stake, we cannot afford Doug Ford bungling another reopening,” said Del Duca. “He needs to strengthen the vaccine certificate now to make sure this reopening is permanent, so that we can all get back to doing the things we love sooner, and so that businesses are not shut down again.”

The Liberal leader also says people with two doses should no longer be considered “fully vaccinated.”

He says a booster should be added to the requirement for a vaccine certificate.

People who are not vaccinated, but have alcohol dependence, would still be able to access LCBO products under Del Duca’s plan.

He is also asking the government to bring in “emergency curbside pick-up” at liquor stores.

“Doug Ford’s Conservatives are leaving Ontarians vulnerable by failing to strengthen vaccine certificates before the province’s reopening begins,” concluded Del Duca. “Ontario’s top doctors, including the Scientific Director of the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table, are calling for strengthened vaccine certificates. Ontarians have had enough of the dithering and delays when it comes to Doug Ford’s pandemic response.”
