Provincial Education Minister Stephen Lecce will be revealing a back-to-school plan for Ontario’s students next week.
With just six weeks remaining before kids are supposed to be back in school, Lecce says he’s working with the province’s medical officer of health and others to finalize the plan.
Lecce says it’s an announcement that can’t be rushed.
He adds that the province could not have released a plan sooner because COVID-19 numbers have changed rapidly over the last month.
School boards and teacher have both raised concerns about moving to in-person lessons too quickly.
Many are asking for more funding to adapt to the pandemic, though Lecce has said there will be more resources and training for staff ahead of September.
