Ontario’s science table releases fourth wave COVID-19 projections's Profile

On Wednesday, Ontario’s Science Advisory Table issued a new report saying that the province is now in the fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It shows COVID-19 vaccinations need to increase and our close contacts need to decrease to mitigate the impact of the fourth wave.

The findings come as most students are set to return to school and many workplaces begin welcoming employees back into the office.

The advisors say vaccination is one of our best weapons against COVID-19.

The advisors say Ontario could hit 10,000 new cases per day by October if transmission increases by 25 per cent.

This new figure shows predictions based on a consensus across models,

Five teams at five Ontario universities built models using different approaches and assumptions.
