Oshawa man crashes car while fleeing police: DRPS's Profile

An Oshawa man is facing charges after Durham police say he refused to pull over for officers and crashed his car while trying to evade them.

It happened around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday after an officer tried to pull over a suspected impaired driver near Taunton Road and Stevenson Road.

Investigators say the driver fled and the officer abandoned the pursuit for safety reasons.

The driver then crashed into a ditch and the car got struck.

He was arrested and police say they seized drugs at the scene.

Leslie Scofield, 34, of Oshawa, is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, dangerous operation of a conveyance, and flight from police.
