Oshawa man facing charges after ride share driver attacked on Highway 115's Profile



OPP say an Oshawa man is facing several charges after he allegedly assaulted a ride share driver on Highway 115 near Pontypool.

According to officers, the driver was assaulted around 11 p.m. Thursday near Porter Road.

Their vehicle was also damaged in the incident.

Police caught up with the suspect, Wallace Groves, 39, and he was arrested.

During a search, investigators found 20 grams of cocaine, cash and a cell phone.

Groves is charged with assault, mischief under $5,000, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime – under $5,000.
