Police appealing for video footage after two vehicles stolen in Courtice neighbourhood's Profile

Durham police are asking people living in a Courtice neighbourhood to check their security footage after an SUV and a van were stolen within two days.

The first theft happened during the early morning hours of October 13.

Police say a male stole a white 2021 Volkswagen SUV from a home on Cale Avenue, near Prestonvale Road and Bloor Street.

Police are asking anyone with video footage from the street between 7 and 7:30 a.m. that day showing a silver vehicle in the neighbourhood to give them a call.

The next day, someone stole a grey 2006 Toyota Sienna from a home on Huntington Crescent sometime between 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Police want people on that street in the 90 to 100 block to check their security cameras from footage of the stolen van, any suspicious vehicles or persons in the neighbourhood.

Officers say it’s possible both thefts are related and the silver vehicle might be involved in both incidents.

If you have video footage you think might help police, email it to Detective Constable Dan Bycok at 3370@drps.ca.
