Toronto police are asking for help finding a man they say made an online threat to commit a shooting at a Toronto school.
Police were contacted shortly after midnight on Friday about a threat made online to an unidentified school.
It was reported that a man had been on an online chat with another man. The suspect said he was in Toronto with a gun and said he intended to commit a shooting.
Immediate steps were taken to ensure the safety of potentially targeted schools and officers started an investigation into identifying and locating the man from the online chat.
Despite extensive efforts, the man was not identified.
An image from the online chat is being released in the hope that someone might be able to help identify him.
Officers say while this remains an uncorroborated threat, the Toronto Police Service continues to take the necessary steps to ensure the safety of schools and students.
If this man is seen, you’re asked to call 911 immediately.
Anyone with information on his identity or locations is asked call police at 416-808-100 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
