Police searching for two suspects following kidnapping and robbery near Scaborough Town Centre's Profile


One man is facing charges, but Toronto police are still searching for two others after a kidnapping and robbery near the Scarborough Town Centre.

Officers were called to an area near Markham Road and Eglington Avenue East around 3:45 p.m. Thursday.

They say a man was forced into a car by three suspects, assaulted over several hours and handed over a substantial value of jewellery at gunpoint.

The victim managed to escape from the car several hours later.

Suliaman Sufi, 21, of Toronto was arrested the next day. He’s been charged with kidnapping, forcible confinement, robbery with a firearm, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, theft of a motor vehicle, extortion and failing to comply with a release order.

Police are still looking for two other men considered to be armed and dangerous. You should not approach them and call 911 if you see them.

Muhsin Sufi, 23, of Toronto (pictured right) and Abdulhai Patel, 20, of Toronto (pictured left) are both wanted for kidnapping, forcible confinement, robbery with a firearm, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, theft of a motor vehicle and extortion.

Sufi is described as 6′ tall, 150 lbs. with a slim build and black hair.

Patel is described 5’9′ tall, 220 lbs. with black hair.
