Province reports 1,053 new COVID-19 cases Saturday's Profile


The number of new COVID-19 cases in Ontario continue to grow, reaching the highest total since May 30.

The province reported 1,053 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, 529 of which were people who are not fully vaccinated or their vaccination status is unknown.

The seven-day average for Ontario is now up to 895 per day.

There were 854 cases last Saturday.

Another seven deaths were announced. It brings the death toll to 10,024. One death occurred more than a month ago and was added to the cumulative count based on data cleaning

The province now releases data about new cases and those in hospital who are vaccinated, partially vaccinated or unvaccinated.

As of December 3, there were 4 patients from Saskatchewan in Ontario, 3 of whom are in the ICU.

There are 722 more resolved cases in the province.

The number of active cases went up to 7,540.

There were 36,268 tests completed the day prior to this report.

The province reported a positivity rate of 3.5 per cent.

So far in Ontario, 23,913,372 vaccines have been administered.

According to the province, 11,827,387 people have at least one dose and 11,288,025 people have received two doses and 783,991  have three doses.

The province has also now released updated vaccine statistics to include children showing 16 per cent of kids five to 12-years-old have their first shot.

In Ontario, 84 per cent of eligible residents five and up have their first shot and 80.5 per cent are fully vaccinated.
