On Friday, 1,780 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Ontario.
The bulk of the cases are in the usual hotspots with Toronto reporting 633 cases, Peel has 433 and York has 152.
Another 25 deaths were announced bringing the death toll in the province to 3,737.
Fifteen of the deaths reported on Friday were residents at long-term care homes.
There were also 1,553 more cases listed as resolved.
It brings the number of active cases in the province up to 14,997.
More than 56,000 tests were completed the day prior to this report, the second most added in one day. The most was 58,037 on November 27.
There are also still 62,403 tests under investigation.
