Ontario is reporting 2,142 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday.
That’s slightly less than Friday’s count. Officials say 2,159 cases were confirmed on Friday, although these weren’t reported due to the Christmas holiday.
Another 38 deaths were reported in the latest update, which is also slightly down from the 43 deaths that were confirmed on Friday.
The death toll in Ontario is now up to 4,359.
There are 1,913 newly-resolved cases in the latest update.
The number of active cases is now at 19,879.
Ontario is reporting 2,142 cases of #COVID19 today, and 2,159 cases reported yesterday. Today, there are 541 new cases in Toronto, 344 in Peel, 262 in York Region, 136 in Hamilton and 131 in Windsor-Essex.
