Province reports 2,417 new COVID-19 cases and 50 more deaths on Sunday's Profile


On Sunday, 2,417 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the province.

There are 785 new cases in Toronto, 404 in Peel, 215 in York Region and 121 in Niagara.

Another 50 deaths were reported.

Of the new deaths announced, 25 are from long-term care homes.

The death toll in Ontario is now 5,803.

Right now there are at least 1,436 people with COVID-19 in Ontario hospitals.

There are 2,759 more resolved cases in the province.

The number of active cases went down to 24,153.

There were 48,947 tests completed the day prior to this report.

There are also 23,995 tests still under investigation, a decrease of 13,852 from Saturday’s report.

So far in Ontario, 280,573 vaccines have been administered with 62,881 people receiving both doses.
