Province reports 857 new COVID-19 cases and eight more deaths on Saturday's Profile



On Saturday, 857 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Ontario, at least 579 of which were in people who are not fully vaccinated.

One new death was announced and another seven deaths from a data clean-up initiative a month ago were also added.

It brings the death toll in Ontario to 9,605.

The province now releases data about new cases and those in hospital who are vaccinated, partially vaccinated or unvaccinated.

There are 756 more resolved cases in the province.

The number of active cases went up to 6,209.

There were 26,268 tests completed the day prior to this report.

The province reported a positivity rate of 3.5 per cent.

So far in Ontario, 21,138,345 vaccines have been administered.

According to the province, 10,152,637 people are fully vaccinated or have received both doses.
