Wearing masks indoors in public is becoming mandatory in many areas and it looks like we’ll find out where Durham stands on the issue soon.
When asked, Regional Chair John Henry said there will be an announcement Monday.
“We should be able to report on Monday to the residents of Durham where we are, and where we are going,” said Henry. “It is another step, or another tool in our toolbox to make sure that we keep our residents safe.”
He commended residents for social distancing, not gathering in large groups, and proper hand washing, adding that masks are another opportunity.
“You only have to look south of the border to see all of the challenges that are happening in the United States and we have one more opportunity to do something else,” said Henry.
Toronto and Brampton have already voted to make masks indoors mandatory.
