OPP think that road rage may be to blame after a deadly crash that happened on a busy section of the 401 in Toronto.
Officers say a 25-year-old man was struck by a transport truck while he was walking in the westbound express lanes, close to Avenue Road.
Constable Tim Dunnah says that, just prior to the accident, officers were called about a collision in the area.
Dunnah couldn’t say much about what happened next, but he says that both drivers involved in the original crash exchanged information.
He says there was some kind of “an interaction” between the drivers and the 25-year-old ended up walking up the right shoulder of the 401.
That’s when officers say he was hit.
The man’s name was not immediately released.
Anyone with information or who witnessed the crash is asked to call police at 416-235-4981 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
